CATS
public transportation started in Cedar City during March, 2003.
It is partially funded through the Federal Transit Administration
and Cedar City. CATS is a member of the Utah Urban and Rural Specialized
Transportation Association (URSTA). CATS is comprised of two differing
services: routed and timed buses for use by all in Cedar City, including
the disabled; and Dial-A-Ride para-transit vans, for use by
the elderly (65 and older) and disabled. Hours of operation are
from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 10 a.m.
to 6
p.m. Saturdays.
CATS has one route
stretching from the north end of the city to the South.

Buses run nine trips on
weekdays and seven trips on Saturdays.

All trips originate and
terminate at the Rock Church with 27 other stops along the
route.

Busses are wheelchair
accessible and climate controlled.

Each of the stops is
marked with a bus sign.

Two wheelchair-accessible vans take the elderly and disabled from one place straight to
another, within city limits.

Rides are $1.50 each way,
and 24-hour notice is suggested.

For personal service, curb-to-curb,
call 559-RIDE (7433). (865-4510 is a backup contact
number in case of regular telephone outage.)
Pay with exact amounts. Drivers
cannot make change.
Passes may be purchased at the Main Counter
of the City Offices, 10 North Main Street.

2. Find the corresponding numbers on the
chart below to establish the schedule for the trip you will be
using. For morning trips, the first column (1A) represents the
first bus and the second column (1B) represents the second bus.
Both buses start at 7:00 from the Rock Church and run to each
end of the route ending at 8:00. T
3. Note that stop numbers follow the order of
the bus route. If you pick bus stop 18 and desire to go to bus stop
14 you will hit all stops until you arrive at stop 1 and start over,
ending at stop 14 one hour and 15 minutes after beginning your
trip.
4. Read across the row to determine the time
that the bus will arrive at your stop. A bus runs the entire route
every hour and 15 minutes.
5. Find the bus stop of the destination to
travel. If your destination is on the same trip, you may view your
arrival time by simply aligning your pickup time with where the
row intersects with your destination stop.
