Cedar City has earned a reputation as a
vital Western gateway for manufacturers and distribution
centers. Because of its strategic location
as well as an intense commitment from local government, Cedar City
has been successful in attracting a diversified manufacturing base
that includes the manufacture and distribution of plastic molding
products, office supply products, copper tubing, rocket fuel components,
retail furnishings, corrugated box products, soy milk, Coffee Mate,
Nestles products, dairy, ice cream, scrapbook products,
aircraft parts, electronic etching devices, crystal computer chips
and consumer rocket motors. Nearly 20% of the local
workforce is employed in manufacturing.
Local leaders have definitely taken steps
to insure economic growth in the future, recently creating 160
acres of new railroad served infrastructures designed to future
distribution and manufacturing demands at Airport Industrial
Park and
Port 15 Utah.
